Ferryboat on Mura river has been standing in this place in Sladki Vrh for 150 years and represents a unique border crossing between Slovenia and Austria. Today, it is mainly used by hikers and cyclists, as it connects numerous footpaths and cycle paths on both sides of the border. The ferryboat is free for visitors and operates from mid-March to mid-November.

The ferryboat consists of two shallow boats (‘kumpa’) connected by a connecting and supporting platform on which the boatman’s hut is located. The importance of the ferryboat in the past and even today is the connection between the inhabitants of both banks of the Mura River. It was once built by farmers who had fields, meadows and forests on the other side of the Mura river.
