Jareninski dvor Manor

The history of Jareninski dvor is closely connected with wine and viticulture, as evidenced by its location among many vineyards. The first mentions of the manor appear in sources in the 12th century, when the manor and the associated property were acquired by the Benedictines from Admont. The wine cellar is thus one of the oldest parts of the manor, as the building has been rebuilt several times in the past. Today’s two-story building has a rectangular floor plan, and a chapel with a baroque bell tower adjoins it on the west side, a shield with the coat of arms of Admont and the initials P. N. K. is built above the entrance to the mansion.

Jareninski dvor was owned by the monastery from Admont until 1939, when it was transferred to the management of the Maribor diocese, after the occupation in 1941, the estate was taken over by the Germans, after the war it was again briefly owned by the Benedictines, then nationalized. In 1991, in the process of denationalization, Jareninski dvor was returned to the Admont monastery, which still owns the castle today. Jareninski dvor has been restored and continues the tradition of viticulture, as it houses a wine cellar and the Dveri-Pax restaurant.
